Fire Sprinklers Save Lives.

Water is the single most important component of fire protection and was perhaps the first fire protection technology. As early as the 15th century Leonardo da Vinci, creator of Mona Lisa and sculptor of David, actually designed a fire sprinkler system. The King of Milan asked Leonardo to help his staff prepare an extravagant meal for a large event. A fire broke out from an oven and supposedly the sprinkler system worked so well, it ruined all of the food.   

Technology has evolved since then, yet water-based fire suppression has remained a mainstay. Today's modern system has earned its reputation in controlling 96% of structural fires its own, while using only a fraction of the water of a fire apparatus.
